Nine Loves.

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”
- Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Nine loves:

1. Hot chocolate (so warm and chocolatey!)

2. A good book (it makes me feel warm and cozy even if I'm reading on the train)

3. Lipstick (I love things that say 'shabam!')

4. Warm socks (my toes chill easily)

5. Sitcoms (sometimes it's hard to commit to a full-length movie)

6. Tea (it's yummy and makes me feel classy)

7. Reading blogs (that's what inspired me to write my own!)

8. The people in my life (strangers too)

9. You Tube (where most of my random knowledge comes from)

Ten Secrets.

I've decided to embark on the ten day challenge! For the next ten days I will be sharing a countdown of numerous things, from ten secrets down to one picture. Fellow bloggers, I invite you to join in!

“If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself.”
- George Orwell, 1984

Ten Secrets:

1. I own multiple shades of red lipstick from my search for the perfect red... not sure if I've found it yet.

 2. I have a little patch of pure white eyelashes on my left eye.

3. On most days, if anyone took off my boots they would be surprised as to what kind of socks I would be wearing.

4 .My eyebrows are completely different shapes so it takes mathematical skill to pluck them right.

 5. I'm very clumsy.

6. I really want to be able to pull off a fanny pack.

7. I have a tooth that is mostly fake.

8. I still wear the Hello Kitty pajama bottoms that I got when I was ten.

9. I'm a slow reader.

10. I'm trying to write a novel... it's going very slowly.

Tomorrow: Nine loves!

Hair for Fancy Night.

I recently had a fancy night out and decided to pounce on the opportunity to do an elaborate hairstyle I've been wanting to try out. It wasn't an everyday sort of look so I had to wait for a formal occasion (I did wear it to school the next day but that was partially because I was too lazy to take out the style). It didn't look like much from the front:

But the back was pretty elaborate!

It was a winding french braid that ended in a little bun that mimicked the petals of a flower. I then pinned a little flower in the middle for effect.

The night turned out great!

Black Boots.

Recommended:
Boots that you love and that love you

After a long search for black boots this season, Zappos was the one to finally end my search. I was tired of going into department stores and trying on multiple pairs of boots that made my short frame look swallowed up by big buckets. I love shopping with Zappos because they have videos of what the shoe actually looks like on their models, so I was able to gauge what they would look like on me. I found the David Tate Montana shoe and fell in love. The lace-up look was the perfect solution to the undesired 'bucket' look. These boots are great paired with something casual or with something a little nicer to give it some edge. They're great! They have the perfect comfort level and when I wear them I feel like a super cool theme song should be playing as I walk.

Bold Gold.

 Recommended:
Maybelline's Color Tattoo eyeshadow in Bold Gold

Maybelline has yet again impressed me with another great product. The Color Tattoo series has been in stores for quite a while now but I had convinced myself I didn't need anything from the collection, as I had a whole palette of eyeshadows just waiting to be used. This excuse was shattered when my clumsy self dropped the palette I had and managed to break most of the colors I used frequently. The lovely golds and browns were transformed into useless colorful powder on my tile floor. Disappointment. I then convinced myself that I didn't really need eyeshadow; I was perfectly fine with just some eyeliner and mascara. That mindset didn't last long. On my next trip to the drugstore I picked up this lovely gold color from the Color Tattoo line.

Bold Gold is the perfect golden color. I've worn it almost every day since buying it, it's really versatile and works with all my makeup looks. The consistency of the shadow has a light cream feel, so I've been applying it using my finger. It takes a second to dry so if I ever get some shadow in the wrong place, I can easily fix it.

The color can range from a light sparkly tint to a real bold shimmering gold, depending on the amount you apply. It is easy to apply different shadows over the Color Tattoo and I haven't had any trouble blending those colors out. Creasing has been a real problem for me in the past. It's always embarrassing to look in the mirror and notice a harsh line across your eyelid when the rest of the color has faded. Bold Gold has never given me this issue. It stays on without clumping or creasing and it also acts as a primer for layering. It has an overall smooth effect all day. Love it!

Have you tried any of the other colors in the Color Tattoo collection?
